From frontline campaigning to emotional support and network-building, our core members are dedicated to educating wider society through mission-led projects and programmes.
The UFFC Annual Rally takes place every October in Central London. Since 1999, bereaved families and others affected by deaths at the hands of United Kingdom police and other custodial services gather in solidarity.
The group assembles at Trafalgar Square and marches to Downing Street to deliver a letter to the MPs, listing the names of deaths at the hands of the police that have not been explained.
The People’s Tribunal addresses the crimes of murder and manslaughter committed by UK state agents that have gone unpunished. The tribunal will establish the failure of the State to successfully prosecute those responsible for deaths in custody.
Family, friends and relevant parties will present evidence outlining the details of a case. This evidence will be witnessed by an international panel in a public forum, whose decisions will then be implemented with the support of official bodies.
Families within the UFFC coalition may need guidance in setting up campaigns in honour of their loved ones. At a time of immense grief, practical advice, emotional reassurance and signposting to relevant support services are among the needs that a bereaved family may have.
We attend inquests, visit recently bereaved families, provide advice on how to get legal support for justice campaigns, and promote connections between families who are experiencing similar circumstances. We also speak about our campaigning at educational institutions and universities across the UK.
