The Metropolitan Police Service recently agreed to settle a claim brought by Mark Duggan’s family arising out of his fatal shooting in August 2011. We view this as an acknowledgement of their wrongdoing.
Whilst this may bring an end to the current legal process, it does not bring conclusion to the community’s quest for the truth to be revealed. To enable this to happen we have joined forces with Forensic Architecture.
The Killing of Mark Duggan – The Truth the Whole Truth & Nothing But the Truth
Takes place: Saturday 30 November 2019 – 6pm to 8pm
Venue: Tottenham Town Hall, Town Hall Approach Road, London N1 4RY
Forensic Architecture is a research agency based at the University of London, which investigates cases of police and military violence, on behalf of the victims of human rights violations, using cutting-edge techniques of video analysis and digital modelling. Using only the testimony provided at the MD inquest, Forensic Architecture have created a digital model that, for the first time ever, provides a wholly independent and visual reconstruction of the actual fatal shooting of Mark Duggan by British police officers on the streets of Tottenham.
Forensic Architecture’s work has been shown in national and international courtrooms, the United Nations, and published by major media organisations around the world. This new technology has never been used before in the UK legal system.
On 30 November we will provide exclusive access to Forensic Architecture’s digital modelling of the shooting of Mark Duggan. This is an opportunity for you to see the latest groundbreaking technology, used in the UK for the first time. But most importantly it is an opportunity for you to decide if Mark Duggan was lawfully or unlawfully killed?
