Two weeks ago a poignant mural appeared with a young child clutching flower and staring at a picture of a man with a magpie perched on top.
The name Christopher Alder is known throughout Hull but the full story of his controversial death and the battles his family have fought since are truly shocking.
A moving drawing appeared on wooden boards in Finkle Street with the words “justice for Christopher Alder” etched above.
The mural, which has not been signed, sparked discussions on social media as to the identity of the artist with some speculating the style is akin to Banksy, while others believe it is the work of local artist Preg.

Christopher Ibikunle Alder was born in 1960 in Hull and was of Nigerian descent.
He was brought up in the care system with his siblings and then joined the British Army at the age of 16 and served in the Parachute Regiment for six years.
After leaving the Army, he first settled in Andover, Hampshire, before relocating to Dagger Lane, Hull, in 1990.
